Downtown San Rafael Housing & Transit Walking Tour

Curious about the new housing coming to San Rafael? Want to get to know your neighbors? Interested in contributing your ideas to a more connected and safe community?

Join Greenbelt Alliance for a walking tour of downtown San Rafael. During the one-mile walk, we will observe some of the existing, proposed, and in-progress housing developments, taking a firsthand look at what's being built and where. Along the way, we'll explore how to ensure that folks can get around safely, with a focus on walking and biking infrastructure improvements and climate solutions. A great way to celebrate Transit Month!

This tour is for those who want to better know our downtown, explore the changes taking shape, and engage on needed improvements.

• A few things to know before you go:
• We'll be walking along active, busy streets for parts of the route.
• Given traffic conditions, this tour is not recommended for young children.
• Wear comfortable walking shoes and expect to be outside for two hours.

We will start near the Where the Fountain Dreams art installation, in front of Chonmage Japanese Restaurant (1020 Court St, San Rafael).
