Midland is at a crossroads, and we’re making room at the table for the community to talk about what comes next.
Across our community, important conversations are happening about school funding, enrollment, facilities, resources, and the long-term future of education in Midland. These conversations raise questions that extend far beyond any one school, building, or decision.
They ask us to think about something bigger:
What kind of educational future are we creating, and who are we planning that future for?
The Breaking Bread Village invites community members to a special Live Show Experience where we can explore these questions openly, hear different perspectives, better understand the realities facing our schools, and consider what today's decisions could mean for Midland tomorrow.
This is not a space designed to convince everyone to agree.
It is a space for all perspectives.
Parents. Students. Educators. Alumni. Community members. Business owners. Leaders. Taxpayers. People with concerns. People with ideas. People who support proposed changes. People who question them. And people who simply want more information before deciding what they think.
There is room at the table for you.
Together, we want to explore questions like:
What is the current reality of funding our schools? What challenges are we facing? What are we preparing for? What might need to change? What should we protect? How will today's decisions affect future students and families? And ultimately, who are we planning for?
Our goal isn't agreement. Our goal is understanding.
And there’s something especially meaningful about the timing. This conversation is happening during Midland Neighboring Week. What better way to practice being neighbors than to sit together, talk about the future of our community, ask difficult questions, listen to one another, and make room for different perspectives?
Come with your questions. Come with your concerns. Come with your perspective. Come ready to listen.
Because planning for the future shouldn't happen without talking about who that future is for.
