Hey there! Ready to create a positive workplace culture for people in recovery? Join us and receive essential knowledge and skills to recognize, address, and support individuals affected by SUD/OUD to foster a more informed and compassionate workplace.
Receive training to ensure legal compliance and create a safer environment, reducing risks and supporting employee well-being for this in-person training where we'll dive into creating a recovery-friendly environment. You can attend one session listed on the agenda or all of them. This flexible option allows you to attend sessions online with the Michigan Public Health Institute throughout the month and then make up sessions for any that you may have missed. You must attend all sessions to receive your designation as a Recovery Friendly Workplace.

Training #1: Understanding SUD/OUD, Stigma, and Recovery
Info: One-hour training which will provide a basic understanding of substance use disorder (SUD), stigma and the role of recovery. Objectives include: 1) Basic understanding of substance use disorder (SUD) 2) Eliminating stigma associated with addiction 3) Person-centered language 4) What is recovery 5) Becoming a Recovery Friendly Workplace 6) How you can support a Recovery Friendly Workplace culture 7) Understanding the positive impact of recovery on the workforce The target audience for this session is owners, management/supervisors, human resource personnel, and internal champions who will be assisting in rolling out this program internally.

Training #3: Accessing Resources and Linking to Your Community
Info: 1-Hour and 15 minute training session providing details and opportunities of ways to access resources in your community that help support your workforce in or seeking recovery from a substance use disorder. Objectives include: 1) Discussing the statewide resources and support systems 2) Understanding local resources and support systems 3) Learning how to use naloxone 4) Updating and improving company resources 5) Implementing changes where resources could be lacking The target audience for this session is owners, management/supervisors, human resource personnel, and internal champions who will be assisting in rolling out this program internally.

Training #2: Training for Management/Human Resources & Navigating SUD/OUD
Info: 90-minute training session educating on actionable opportunities to build a Recovery Friendly Workplace. Objectives include: 1) Understanding the role of stigma around Substance Use Disorder (SUD) 2) Understanding SUD/OUD and how it relates to the workplace 3) Why you should become a Recovery Friendly Workplace 4) How to build a Recovery Friendly Workplace 5) Implementing policies that help workers in recovery. The target audience for this session is owners, management/supervisors, human resource personnel, and internal champions who will be assisting in rolling out this program internally
