Micropond Giveaway

This Spring 2026, LR CARES is giving out 50 Micropond Kits to Long Reach residents.

With a micropond, you can provide habitat and sustenance to our native aquatic life: tadpoles, dragonflies, frogs, salamanders...and you get to watch the fun in your own yard!

• Our kits will contain several native plants for a shady location, enough Mosquito Bits to prevent mosquitoes for one season, complete instructions, and a small pond basin in one of two available options. Please select which kit you would like:
• Option 1: Below ground: Stainless Steel Bowl
• Option 2: Above ground: Galvanized container
• Limited quantity available for Long Reach reisdents. Only one kit per household.
• Only Long Reach residents that attended the microponds webinar are eligable for the giveaway. Webinar is scheduled for April 8 at 7 pm.
• Pick up kits: Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 9-12 pm

All are welcome to attend the Micropond webinar and we will share our resources and plans for our Micropond Kits so that anyone interested can recreate this.
