Popular from the 16th century these private collections were owned by the great and good of the day and were used to entertain and impress family and friends. Cabinets of Curiosities served as collections to reflect the particular interest of their curators but most would house items of natural history, geology, ethnography and antiquities.
Amassed over 40 years, Michael’s collection includes meteorites, fossils, skulls, Victorian butterflies, dinosaur teeth, corals, shells, insects, feathers, Neolithic flints and many other fascinating artefacts from around the world.
Come along and join us and find out what you never knew you never knew.
