BIO:
Hailing from Boston, Michael Figge is a bassist, composer and bandleader. At 19 years old, he has had an extensive performance background and deep musical training, he has shared the stage with esteemed musicians such as George Garzone, Francisco Mela, Phil Grenadier, Harvey Diamond, Michael Rodriguez, Andrew Bishop, Bryn Roberts, and Ryan Devlin.
Michael has studied under jazz luminaries like Gerald Cannon, Ben Wolfe, and Rodney Whitaker refining his craft under their mentorship. He has also performed at venues, including Dizzy’s Jazz Club (NYC), Wally’s Jazz Club (Boston), the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), and The Lilypad (Cambridge, MA).
Michael is currently pursuing jazz and classical performance at Interlochen Arts Academy. He has preformed at Litchfield Jazz Festival, Vermont Jazz Festival, and Brubeck Jazz Summit, as well as collaborative projects with world-class musicians.
As a bandleader, Michael heads the Michael Figge Group, showcasing his original compositions in venues across Boston. Additionally, his work as a composer has led to commissioned projects, including film scoring and orchestration for professional productions
