The Miami-Dade ACT-SO Program (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological & Scientific Olympics), a nationally recognized youth enrichment initiative sponsored by the NAACP, invites you to a Meet & Greet. This is your opportunity to learn more about the program.
ABOUT ACT-SO
ACT-SO is designed to recruit, mentor, and academically prepare high school students in grades 9-12. By providing rigorous mentorship and competitive platforms across 33 distinct categories, the program aligns directly with district goals to foster academic excellence, artistic expression, and college and career readiness.
PROGRAM CATEGORIES
Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents and research across five major disciplines:
STEM - Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Earth & Space Sciences, and more.
Humanities - Poetry, Short Story, Playwriting, Essay
Performing Arts - Dance, Music Vocal, Music Instrumental, Oratory, Acting
Visual Arts - Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Filmmaking, Architecture
Business & Culinary Arts - Entrepreneurship, Culinary Arts
