About this Event
WORKSHOP: REAL CACAO — WHAT NO ONE TOLD YOU ABOUT CHOCOLATE
You love chocolate… but have you ever stopped to ask what you’re actually consuming?
Mexico doesn’t just produce cacao.
Mexico is where the relationship between humans and cacao began.
For centuries it was food, medicine, currency, ritual…
today it has been transformed into an industrial product filled with sugar, marketing, and confusion.
Something got lost along the way.
This space is about opening that question again.
One hour to see chocolate differently.
One hour to taste, to question, to feel.
Not through theory… through experience.
You’ll begin to uncover:
– Why Mexico is the birthplace of cacao
– The difference between real cacao and commercial “chocolate”
– How the industry reshaped one of the most important foods in the world
– What culture, worldview, and history live inside cacao
– How to recognize quality in what you consume
And this won’t stay in your head… it lands in your body.
You’ll taste the seed.
You’ll drink cacao.
You’ll compare it with supermarket chocolate.
You’ll feel the difference for yourself.
No filters. No fake spirituality. No romantic narratives.
Just cacao… as it truly is.
All profits from this event will be donated to the Immigrant Defense Project (IDP).
Founded nearly 30 years ago, IDP works to combat the human rights crisis created by the mass criminalization, detention, and deportation of immigrants in the United States. As immigration enforcement has intensified—particularly through the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)—many immigrant communities face increasing risks of detention, family separation, and deportation.
Through legal advice and training, impact litigation, policy advocacy, community defense, and strategic communications, IDP fights to protect the rights of immigrants and challenge unjust policies within the U.S. immigration and criminal legal systems.
By supporting this event, you are helping fund vital work that defends immigrant communities, responds to the current challenges they face, and helps keep families together.
