Messy Memoir Zines with Ash Durrance!

Living is messy, making art is messy, being a person in this world is, no matter how hard we fight it, super messy. Instead of cleaning (or, fretting about cleaning so hard you never actually do the cleaning), sit down and make something with your mess.

Akin to junk journaling, these messy zines will reflect a bit of our lives that we cannot control but are willing to memorialize. Bring scraps of ephemera lying around your place of living—candy wrappers, chip bags, junk mail, food receipts, used bus passes—and prepare to make art with the remnants of your daily outings (and staying-ins).

By the end of this workshop, you’ll have a scrapbook-style zine meant to be Xeroxed and shared—whether handed out to a friend, left in a Little Library, or tacked to your own fridge. Don’t have any scraps? Junk, stickers, and random (not gross) trash bits will be provided.
