Class begins promptly at 9 a.m. in the Community Room at the Welcome and Discovery Center in Parking Lot #3. We recommend arriving an hour early to the park due to heavy traffic onto the island and into the main area of the park at this time of year.

Join Artist-in-Residence Jenny M. Licht for a Mermaid on Palm Bark Painting Class at Lovers Key State Park. With Jenny's help, you'll transform your palm bark into beautiful works of art!

Each Mermaid has its own personality as it is individually cut and shaped from Palm bark using a band saw.

All materials/supplies provided: Naturally aged palm bark specifically shaped to feature the natural beauty of the bark, special all surface acrylic paint, use of brushes, palette, paint cloths, aprons, shells, Spanish Moss for the hair, glue, glitter paint, image samples/pics and other supplies as well as step by step instruction.

Your Palm Bark Mermaid Art is suitable for hanging on your lanai or in your coastal space as a hanging loop will already be attached so it will be good to go when you get home!
