Time to splash into 2024 with Mermaid Academy! An experience created by Laurel's Characters & Co and hosted since 2017, we are proud to be opening classes for our 8th season. Now offered at Safe Splash Swim School in Perrysburg, OH. Be immersed in the Mermaid Academy Experience with makeovers, flippin fin fun, Ariel as a Mermaid and so much more!
*NEW each child will swim across the pool in their tail with the assistance of a kick board and Merfriend! Under the sea craft to make and keep AND colored hair extension clip in styled into hair and to keep!
Parents can sit back, relax and enjoy viewing their child from the pool deck or the lobby with viewing windows. The class of children will be safe while participating in the academy as a Safe Splash Life Guard is on duty and 3 Merfriends are in the water with the class at all times. The depth of the water is 4 feet deep the entire length of the pool and children will be seated most of the class on decks inside the pool that place them in about 6 -8 inches of water.
This is an experience you won’t want to miss. Classes are very limited! Only 10 children attend each class during the private session only open to Mermaid Academy participants.
Mermaid Academy Includes:
Boys and girls ages 2-12 welcome (do not need to know how to swim)
When swimming they are supervised by lifeguard and water safety certified merfriends while using floatation tools such as kick boards.
90 minute Mertastic Experience
3 Mer-Friend Attendants to run the Academy from start to finish
Ariel in her fin as a real mermaid
Tent with jelly fish pods for mer-makeovers and photos
Mermaid Makeover - Seashell bun hairstyle with clip in colored hair extension and face scales (glitter)
Under the sea craft to keep
Mer-Friends help each child get their flippers on and into the water
Grand entrance with Ariel’s arrival in her tail
Live vocal performance from Ariel
Flippin Fun - learn to use tails splashes and "NEW Experience" each child will swim across the pool with the assistance of a kick board and merfriend guiding them.
Sing along songs
Group photo with Ariel
One on One time
Supervised pool activity with mermaids alongside merfriend guides during indivudal photos

Mermaid Tail Purchase Options
RENTAL included with registration contains - Swim top, (must wear own swim bottom), mermaid tail and foot monofin flipper (these items will be returned to LPP at the end of the Academy)

Size chart Please give us your child’s sizing based on their current pant size. The tails are the length of their belly button to their foot and are very stretchy.
Mermaid Tail Set PURCHASE must be done in advance! We do not have a stock on hand. Each tail set is special order only.
Cancelation Policy:
If you are unable to attend an academy you must notify Laurel’s Princess Parties staff a minimum of 12 hours in advance by email: [email protected]. With notification we will offer you an LPP credit or reschedule date. NO payment refunds are ever issued.

Registration Resale Policy
Mermaid Academy registrations are NOT permitted to be resold online anywhere.
No tickets are issued, only first and last name registered
under will be at check in for the class.
Reschedule Policy:
The only reason for a reschedule will be ice or snow weather conditions that will not permit families to travel safely. This is rare to happen but if it does happen LPP will notify families by email of the reschedule and a date to attend in the future or receive an LCC credit.
