This March we’re celebrating 10 years of the Mercury Retros! Also, this year, we’re celebrating the 100th anniversary of The Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, NY, the birthplace of Lindy Hop! In honor of both we’ll be working on a performance routine to Chick Webb’s ‘Stompin’ at the Savoy’. The routine will have parts for both newcomers to teams and also seasoned Lindy Hop veterans! We’ll have plenty of time over the next 4-months to get ready to perform at the 1940’s Ball on June 20th, and also at local venues around town. Get ready for a fun experience, working on faster dancing (plus a trick or two), and getting to know your fellow dancers! Every season is a blast!Prereq: You should be able to comfortably execute a swing out to a medium tempo song (170bpm), know basic 6ct and 8ct patterns, and are comfortable learning some easy tricks and lifts. Level: Intermediate +
The first practice will be Thursday, March 5th, 2026 and will run for 4 months/16 sessions! Since this is a team experience, there are no drop-ins for individual classes, but please attend the first night if you are interested.
The Mercury Retros are an open team, meaning anyone can join, no audition required. No partner required either. Bring one if you’d like, though we will all dance with each other at practices.

NO STREET SHOES allowed at MOVE! studio. Also, NO FOOD OR DRINK other than water! Please bring a clean pair of dance shoes to change into, along with your water bottles. Wear clothes you feel comfortable moving and stretching in.
