One in four people will be affected by a mental health problem at some point in their lives, yet the stigma surrounding mental health often prevents faith
communities from responding compassionately and
effectively. Come join us to learn more about mental health challenges and how to help those who struggle with them.
The Sanctuary Course for Catholics, a highly acclaimed eight-session series developed for Catholic parishes,
features compelling films that feature the stories of
Catholics living with mental health challenges, along with the insights of Archbishops, Theologians, and
Psychologists.
Each session focuses on a different topic: an Introduction, Mental Health, Mental Illness, Stigma, Recovery,
Companionship, Self-Care, and The Church. Each topic is addressed from three perspectives: Psychological, Social, and Theological.
The series meets eight consecutive Mondays, Sept. 9 – Oct. 28, 7:00 – 8:30 pm in Seton Hall. Please join
us and invite others who may benefit. RSVP to [email protected] to help us estimate handouts and
refreshments, but come even if you haven’t RSVP’d. If you can’t attend all sessions, come to the ones you can.
