About this Event
Part 1 of this training is on Wednesday 25th March and part 2 is on Thursday 26th March both from 9.30am to 5pm. Both sessions must be attended to both to obtain the certificate.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is First Aid for people experiencing emotional or mental distress, including support for people experiencing suicidal feelings. It is aimed at saving lives, improving responses to those in distress and to making our society more compassionate. MHFA is an Internationally acclaimed training course and is accredited in the UK by the Royal Society for Public Health.
This is a two-day practical skills and awareness course designed to give you:
- A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support
Great for those working with vulnerable people, managers in all industries and anyone who would like to learn the skills to support someone in distress. On completion, you will receive a very comprehensive MHFA manual, a workbook and a certificate of attendance.
