Successful participants will achieve a Mental Health First Aid certificate from the Mental Health Commission of Canada.Healthcare Professionals may also earn continuing medical education credits with this course
Course participants will learn how to recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis and encourage that person to:
• Talk about declines in their mental well-being
• Discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improve mental well-being
• Reach out to these supports
• Assist in a mental health or substance use crisis
• Use MHFA actions to maintain one’s own mental well-being
Duration: 1 day in class and approximately 2 hours online.
*Please note that the completion of a self-directed component is required prior to attending the virtual classroom modules. Participants can expect to spend approximately 2 hours completing this portion of the program, and must submit proof of completion no later than 48 hours prior to the start time of the classroom module.
