This event will focus on Scotland’s ambitions for improving the lives of people with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, looking at putting evidence into practice.
On the day we will be joined by:

- Rajendra Raman, Consultant in Emergency Medicine, NHS Fife
- Jane Grassie, Consultant in Emergency Medicine, Kirkcaldy Fife
- Beata Ciesluk, Doctoral Researcher, PhD Student, University of West of Scotland
- Iain Smith, Consultant Psychiatrist, Substance Use Service, NHS Forth Valley
- Dr Carey Lunan, GP Chair of the Scottish Deep End Project
- Katy MacLeod, Research and Peer Engagement Programme Manager, Scottish Drugs Forum
- Tracey McFall, Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Recovery Consortium
We are keen to gather a wide range of experience and knowledge, and to assist this we will be running breakout sessions covering the following topics:
· Breakout A: Stigma, staff wellbeing and trauma-informed practice.
· Breakout B: Responding to Scotland’s changing drug landscape
· Breakout C: Where do people with mental health and substance use concerns present, and what happens to them?
Coffee/tea will be available starting at 9:30 AM and presentations will begin at 9:50 am. Lunch will be served at 1:00 PM.
