About this Event

Menopause Global Majority Conference: Iranti ẹ̀jẹ̀: Remembering Blood

We are thrilled to invite you to Iranti Ẹ̀jẹ̀, a groundbreaking convening rooted in sacred remembering, cultural resistance, and collective liberation.

Iranti Ẹ̀jẹ̀: Remembering Blood is not just a conference—it is a portal. A return. A radical act of reclamation and reimagination of the menopausal journey. Centering Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and LGBTQIA+ wisdom, this gathering brings together formerly incarcerated people, healers, artists, researchers, cultural workers, and organizers from across the globe.

Through ritual, panels, storytelling, workshops, and art, we will co-create a maroon space of ancestral knowing, joy, and embodied justice.

Why the South? Why Now?

The South is sacred ground. North Carolina is home to Black brilliance, Indigenous resilience, and a legacy of radical imagination. We root this gathering in the same soil that birthed Anna Julia Cooper’s Black feminist fire, Harriet Jacobs’ defiant resistance, Nina Simone’s revolutionary sound, Pauli Murray’s unapologetic truth-telling, and Ella Baker’s grassroots organizing power. This land remembers. And so do we.

For people of the Global Majority, for our queer, trans, gender-expansive kin, for those who are currently or formerly incarcerated or system-impacted, this place matters. In a political climate where our bodies, our freedoms, and our futures are under siege, gathering in the South is a declaration of sovereignty and legitimacy. It’s an offering. A refusal. A replanting.

Hosted by
The Black Girl’s Guide to Surviving Menopause (BGG2SM) is a culture and narrative shift reproductive justice collective. We are a multidisciplinary, socially engaged practice rooted in storytelling as a liberatory act—an embodied practice of witnessing, cultural organizing, and ritual.

Join us in this historic moment.
We are also shifting the reproductive and healing justice landscapes to more fully include menopause as essential terrain for advocacy, care, and collective liberation for this and the next generation. Together, we will Remember. Reclaim. Replant. We will honor the blood, the beauty, and the becoming embedded in the menopause experience.
