Member Night

Join us for this month’s Member Night at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum as we bid farewell to summer with a “sip, paint, and play” experience! Our exhibition team will be onsite to guide a community painting project where artists of all skill levels can add their own brush strokes to help bring our Currents in Color mural to life.
Guests can also enjoy friendly competition with classic board games and Detroit trivia, as well as refreshments and an End of Summer Signature Cocktail to toast the season. We look forward to hosting members and their guests for a relaxing, fun-filled evening surrounded by the museum’s rich maritime history.
Created by Detroit-based multidisciplinary designer Brontae Williamson, the new mural will celebrate Detroit’s creative spirit, the region’s rich maritime heritage, and the legacy of Paint-by-Number—a Metro Detroit innovation that transformed art into a shared experience. Once complete, the mural panels will be assembled and permanently installed on the west-facing wall of the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, leaving a lasting mark of community creativity for years to come.
The evening includes wine and light refreshments.
