About Memba
Architects of sound design and voyagers of unexplored realities, the Brooklyn-based production duo MEMBA has steadily elevated their status over the past few years by crafting electronic music that is propped up by a rich tapestry of ancient world rhythms.
MEMBA charted globally with their song “For Aisha,” a tribute to Ishaan’s sister. The track's inclusion in the Bollywood film "The Sky Is Pink," which premiered at TIFF and is now available on Netflix, propelled its reach to a global audience, solidifying MEMBA's ability to create music that strikes a deeply personal chord while resonating with a wide spectrum of listeners.
2018 saw the release of SAGA-I, an EP based around a particularly filthy planet in the MEMBA universe. The EP was transformed into a multisensory experience by coupling each track with relics from the planet that allowed the listener to taste, smell, feel, and see the music. The SAGA-I experience came to life at a sold-out warehouse event in Brooklyn. In 2019, MEMBA released SAGA-II on ODESZA’s label Foreign Family. The EP story was told through an audio-visual short film that showcased another planet in their universe.
The duo further expanded their catalog in 2021 with the launch of their PHASES project; a 4 EP offering that was released on every full moon between April - July, celebrating changes in state, in humans and all matter. In April 2023, MEMBA self-released the UNI(*)N EP, a collaborative body of work weaving together global influences and forward-thinking electronic production. Later that year, they followed with the East Meets West EP, further leaning into cross-cultural rhythms and melodic storytelling.
On stage, MEMBA has built a reputation for immersive performances, appearing at major festivals including Coachella, EDC, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Shambhala, Ultra, and Glastonbury. They have supported ODESZA, Jai Wolf, Big Gigantic, and CloZee on tour, setting the foundation for their own headline runs and continued global growth.
Now, fresh off the heels of their debut album ABOVE*GROUND in Novemeber 2025, MEMBA is looking ahead and preparing for a breakout year, pushing the boundaries of worldy electronic music while inviting fans into a fully realized sonic universe.
