Modern Calligraphy Workshop ran by Simon Rous, founder of Lowestoft based company Scribblers Calligraphy. This session is a friendly introduction to modern calligraphy. By the end, participants will know how to use a flexible pointed nib and ink to create letters and words.
Modern calligraphy has grown out of traditional scripts but is much less rigid. The focus is on balance rather than uniformity, leaving plenty of room for personality and expression - which is a big part of its appeal.
This workshop is designed for complete beginners. We’ll begin with the basic strokes before moving on to letters and words. While it may feel slow at first, that foundation helps participants progress much more quickly and confidently.
