Join us for one of the highlights of Slick Week as the Melbourne Rubber 2026 Competition takes centre stage at The Laird in Abbotsford.
Open to contestants of all genders, the competition showcases the passion, creativity, and diversity of Melbourne's rubber community across three judged rounds. Contestants will be evaluated by an esteemed panel of both local and international judges, as they compete to become the next Melbourne Rubber titleholder.
This year also marks the debut of the annual Slick Awards. Celebrating excellence in creativity, service, leadership, and community connection, the awards honour those whose contributions create welcoming spaces, foster belonging, and strengthen Melbourne's rubber scene.
Whether you're cheering on the contestants, celebrating this year's award recipients, or simply experiencing the energy of competition night, this is an evening not to be missed.

The Laird offers step-free access to the main bar area and an accessible toilet on the ground floor. If you have any specific accessibility requirements, please get in touch with the Melbourne Rubber team before the event and we'll do our best to assist.

The Laird is easily accessible by public transport, with Collingwood Train Station just a short walk away and bus services stopping nearby on Hoddle St.
Limited timed street parking is available in the surrounding area, however we recommend travelling by public transport or rideshare where possible.

There is no strict dress code for this event; however, rubber, latex, neoprene, leather, uniforms, fantasy, and other fetish attire are warmly encouraged.
To help ensure our events remain welcoming and inclusive, clothing or insignia featuring swastikas, police uniforms, or police badges are not permitted. Attendees displaying these items may be refused entry until they have changed their attire.
If you're wearing spikes or other accessories that may pose a risk in crowded spaces, please be mindful of those around you.
Cloaking facilities are available at most Slick Week events.
