A paddleboarding experience & beach hang for BIPOC community to learn about our surrounding ecosystem. Scholarships available!
About this Event

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED .

This is an experience for BIPOC community of all genders and age 12+. (Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

Whether this is your first time padleboarding or you already have experience, this is a perfect opportunity for you to learn the basics of paddleboarding while learning about the ecosystmes that surround us. No swimming experience needed required.

This experience is made possible thourgh the support of

What to bring? ( Anything you would bring to a beach day.)

  • Bring bathing suit/ beach shorts on ,
  • Rashguard
  • Light jacket
  • a towel
  • dry clothes
  • water
  • sunscreen

What does MWS+ Provide?

  • Boards, lifejackets, dry bags and snacks!

What if the weather is not in our favor?

  • We will find another date to make this happen or we will change the destination depending how rough the conditions are.

LOCATION:

Our Experience will take place in the Casco Bay Area with an initial goal of paddling from East End Beach to Fort Gorges. Nonetheless, if conditions are not ideal our guide may shift our course.

TRANSPORTATION:

We will be offering some carpooling opportunities for those who don't have access to a vehicle. You will be able to opt-in as a passenger or as a driver* when registering!

*to be a driver means you have a car in good conditions and are commiting to carpool people at the beginning and end of the session.

Info: We will teach you how to properly use a paddle board, do some gear fit and go through some safety points to have a great time in the water.

Info: We will have a small practice session to get everyone comfortable in the water while using a paddle-board.
