Mehfil - The Band

Mehfil is a musical set presented by young thespians and musicians. The band was conceived by Anadi Nagar in 2022 as an ode to his father and renowned thespian Pandit Ravi Nagar. Mehfil caters to an audience that wants to groove to something different from the repetitive Bollywood -popular Hindi music. They perform the choicest selection of folk and theatre songs by fusing modern and traditional Indian music. These songs range from the sombre works of Muktibodh, Nagarjuna & Kabir to simpler joys of being like childhood, love and life in general.

Mehfil creates an experience which is intimate, warm and organically charged. These songs have been largey composed, redesigned and curated by Anadi Nagar to fit current sensibilities. In the past year Mehfil has performed at several coveted festivals like the Mahindra Kabira Festival, Jaipur Literature Festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav at NSD, Taj Mahotsav at Agra, Khidkiyaan by MCCC, Le Chakallas Festival in Mumbai, among several others.
