Tailspin by John Armbruster is the incredible World War II survival story of Eugene "Gene" Moran, a tail gunner who fell four miles without a parachute and became a German prisoner of war. The book intertwines Moran's harrowing experiences, including a death march and life in POW camps, with Armbruster's own life as a history teacher dealing with his wife's cancer, creating a dual narrative about trauma, resilience, and healing.
