Beginning in summer 2026, The Bronx Museum is expanding beyond our walls and into our surrounding neighborhood through the Meet Me At The Park series!
For this iteration of Meet Me At The Park, artists Jodie Lyn-Kee Chow and Asia Stewart are presenting free performances for all ages in Joyce Kilmer Park—located just one block south of the Museum on Grand Concourse.
Titled Black August: The Political Potential of Performance, this program draws on traditions of Black feminist performance art and social practice with Stewart’s and Lyn-Kee-Chow’s performances related to Black liberation, joy, and resistance.
The artists both completed the Museum’s prestigious AIM Fellowship (a career accelerator program for the most talented ascendant artists based in NYC) in 2024 and are currently exhibiting work in our North Wing gallery as part of exhibition.
Lyn-Kee-Chow’s work on view is an installation comprising the pieces Valor & Revolt (2024-25) and Meet Me In the Sky Parlor(2023). Stewart’s installation is titled the money is in the blades(2025).
