Meet & Greet with April St. Martin
School Board Night
Come meet April St. Martin and hear why she's running for Owatonna School Board.
When: October 22nd, 6:30 PM
Where: Corporate Recognition
125 W Bridge St, Owatonna, MN 55060
Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
Why April is running
Just as citizens want more input from their city council, April believes parents deserve a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their children. She believes parents carry the primary responsibility for raising their kids and should understand what their children are taught and exposed to.
April is a longtime Owatonna resident who raised her family here. Her Christian faith shapes her commitment to family, the dignity of every child, personal responsibility, truth, integrity, and service. She also knows that serving on a public school board means representing the whole community, and she is committed to listening respectfully to those who disagree, asking hard questions, and treating everyone with dignity.
What she'll work for
-Transparency and clear communication about curriculum and policies
-Real opportunities for parents to take part in decisions and have a seat at the table
-A school board that welcomes questions and listens to parents, teachers, students, and the community
"I do not have all the answers, but I will do my homework, keep an open mind, and make decisions based on what best serves Owatonna's students." -- April St. Martin
