At the beginning of our workshop, everyone will have a chance to say a few words and share personal goals. Each of you will have a chance to say what you need to learn.

Understanding the Role and Principles of Mediators

In this session you will come to understand the principles that shape you as a mediator and that equip you to practise your profession with integrity and effectiveness. We will explore how these principles inform both what happens in mediation, and – just as importantly – who we show up as, in all aspects of our mediation practice.

Developing a Staged and Goal Oriented Mediation Process

At this session participants will learn about the mediation process and implement this knowledge from beginning to end so that they are a greater success and effective.

Tools and Techniques

This session will look at some tools and practices that help heighten your meditation experience – bringing you greater focus on moments, with more mindful clarity and perspective.

Gain an understanding of the dynamics of power and cultural norms.

You will also learn how to discuss and negotiate with various business groups in ways that sustain cultural and life relationships while achieving business goals. At the end of this session, you should have a grasp of how to deal with different power structures and cultural groups in order to arrive at a mutually beneficial outcome.

Demonstrate familiarity with ethics and ethical dilemmas.

This session will empower you with a knowledge of good practice, expose you to ethical dilemmas and help you deal with them. Various approaches will be shown.

Summary of the workshop

At the end of the session you will have learnt about your chosen subject. You will have grown in confidence to use what you have learnt and will have made a plan for the future that suits you. Opportunities exist throughout the session to ask questions, including in the Question and Answer time at the end.
