About this Event
Course Overview
— So the beginning of a session is kind of a getting-to-know-you, and talking about what this workshop entails, but you’ll hopefully also get some goals that you’d like to achieve over the course of time.
Topics covered in this course
Defining Harassment
Participants will examine the practice of harassment from the perspective of the law, literature and from the perspective of the reasonable man/woman
Defining Sexual Harassment
Sexual Harassment at Work: This workshop will touch on sexual harassment from all sides and reframe it from a lecture and small breakout format to allow participants to share and interact with each other. The course will review sexual harassment definitions, and also more appropriate and common day-to-day occurrences that, though seemingly innocuous, may fit the legal definition of a harassment claim.
The Purpose of Training
This seminar will look at training and how empowering employees with more information about harassment can lead to better functioning and understand the benefits that go along with a safer work environment.
Creating a Harassment Policy
Regardless of your company size, a zero-tolerance policy on harassment is an important tool for your business. We help you write, implement and monitor policies to keep your staff safe, and outline the components you need in training staff.
Other Prevention Strategies
Now we look at the details: how do we create the setting to allow group interaction to be as safe and dignified as possible; how can everyone in the group grow?
Workshop Wrap-Up
The Qs, as well as the action plans students develop on how to use new knowledge about themselves to practise, with real-world stakes, work related to their own academic requirements.
