Screens are everywhere—and they’re shaping our children, our conversations, and our homes. From social media and streaming to games and advertising, media influences how families think, relate, and make decisions, often in ways we don’t fully see. Media on the Brain is a weekend event created to help families pause and take an honest look at how today’s media culture is affecting our minds, our values, and the next generation.
Through engaging presentations and discussion, we’ll explore how stories, technology, and social platforms shape beliefs, attention, and behavior—and how parents and families can respond with wisdom and purpose. This weekend is about becoming more aware, more intentional, and more united as families, learning how to navigate media in a way that protects hearts, strengthens relationships, and supports faith in an increasingly connected world.

6:30pm - The Art of Lying
An eye-opening look at how the brain processes information and how media and advertising influence what we believe—often without us realizing it.
January 24
9:30am - Let Me Tell You a Story
- Exploring how modern media shapes narratives and beliefs, and how storytelling influences truth, perception, and faith today.
10:55am - SocialMeMeMedia
- A discussion on social media’s impact on individuals and families, including social and spiritual effects and its role in shaping identity and values.
Lunch provided for those attending.
2:00pm - Lying Wonders
- A broad overview of cartoons, superheroes, and popular media, examining the messages they communicate and how they influence young minds.
Following 2:00 presentation - Science, Screen & Seances
- A historical look at technology and spiritualism, connecting past ideas to modern media and culture.
