Media Mingle meets Deutschclub: Migration Stories Through Shortfilm

Welcome back to Media Mingle, your monthly cultural rendezvous at the Goethe-Institut Toronto!
This time, we’re focusing on migration, a topic that continues to shape societies worldwide. Through the lens of short films, we’ll explore personal journeys, cultural displacement, and the search for belonging.​​​​​​​

Biotop (German with English subtitles): A suburb builds a noise wall to shield against incoming refugees, exposing deeper fears and tensions.
Bambirak (German with English subtitles):
A heartfelt story of an immigrant father and his daughter as they navigate the complexities of work, integration, and love.
I Was Never Really Here (German with English subtitles):
A reflective film on identity and belonging, exploring what it means to find oneself in the midst of migration.

After each screening, we’ll open the floor for an open discussion, where we can share thoughts, feelings, and insights on these migration stories.

One group will talk about it in German, the other in English.
