MEC Gear Swap // Victoria

Way back in the 90's, a little thing called the MEC Gear Swap was born as a place for people to sell and buy used gear and find trip partners. It's been a few years since our last in-person MEC Gear Swap - and we are so stoked to be back.

Time: 10am - 2pm

Join us at the MEC Victoria store to find deals on previously loved gear or sell your own lightly used gear to give it a second life.

Our gear swap is an awesome place to find some screamin' deals on previously loved gear. It helps keep product out of landfills that might need a few repairs to keep it going.

Here are 3 ways to get in on the fun:

• Rent a table to sell your own gear.

Table rentals are just $20 (+ fees). Your rental gets you (1) 6ft table to sell your gear. You will be responsible for pricing and selling your items at the event. A limit of 10 tables will be available and it's first come, first served!

Deadline to book your table is October 2.

• Donate your gently used items and receive 15% off at MEC

Have gear that's been sitting in storage and needs a new home? Stop by MEC Victoria to donate your (clean) gently used outdoor gear and we’ll take care of the rest.

All outdoor gear is eligible for donation. We will not accept items that are smelly, moldy or otherwise unhygienic, items beyond repair. We reserve the right to refuse donations that do not meet the criteria.

Donations will be accepted until October 2.

Join us at the MEC Gear Swap to scope out some deals and connect with some likeminded outdoor enthusiasts. We promise you won't leave empty handed and we'll get you set up for your next adventure!

Stop by and visit with the Alpine Club of Canada Vancouver Island Section. They'll have info on upcoming events and initiatives, as well as a chance to win some epic raffle prizes from MEC.

All sales final. Gear Swap products are final sale, sold “as is”, cannot be repaired by MEC, and are not covered by the MEC Rock Solid Guarantee. A release form must be filled out when you purchase anything from the MEC Gear Swap.
