Following an incredible 40th Anniversary Edition of MDS Legendary, we are now gearing up for MDS Legendary 41st Edition, 2027 — and it promises to be an edition like no other.
With the UK reaching a record number of participants and topping the international country rankings, the British MDS community is stronger than ever. As we build towards 2027, we are bringing together some of the most inspiring voices from the world of running, endurance and MDS for a very special day in London.

Hear directly from legendary finishers, MDS ownership, volunteers, partners and some of the most recognisable names in the running world, as we bring the magic, challenge and unique spirit of MDS Legendary to life.
Throughout the day, we'll explore what it really takes to take on the Sahara — from training and preparation to nutrition, equipment, mindset and life beyond the finish line.
We’ll be joined by an incredible line-up of runners, coaches, broadcasters, authors and storytellers, including British MDS legend and running coach Rory Coleman, who is preparing to take on his 20th MDS Legendary; BBC broadcaster, author and marathon runner Sophie Raworth; renowned Peloton coach, ultra runner, author and 4-times MDS Finisher Susie Chan; world-renowned ultra-running photographer, podcaster and storyteller Ian Corless; British comedian, author and MDS finisher Paul Tonkinson; Xavi Nunes, MDS Brand Activation & Race Development Director, and Martin Lynn, the man who makes it happen, the engine behind MDS UK Fund Raising Projects - connecting passionate runners with a purpose and channelling their efforts into fundraising for causes that matter.

A true MDS legend, Rory Coleman has completed 19 MDS Legendary editions and is preparing for his incredible 20th. One of the most experienced figures in the MDS community, Rory is also a renowned running coach and ultra-endurance athlete.
Sophie Raworth
BBC Broadcaster | Author | Marathon Runner | MDS Finisher
BBC broadcaster, journalist and author Sophie Raworth completed MDS Legendary in 2018, taking on one of the world's toughest endurance challenges alongside her demanding career in broadcasting.
Susie Chan
Peloton Coach | Ultra Runner | Author | 4× MDS Legendary Finisher
Renowned Peloton coach, ultra runner and author, Susie Chan is a four-time MDS Legendary finisher and one of the most recognisable and inspiring voices in the running community. Known for her infectious passion for endurance, extraordinary adventures and ability to inspire runners of all levels, Susie brings a unique combination of elite experience, coaching expertise and genuine love for the sport.

One of the world's most respected ultra-running photographers and ultra-running podcaster, Ian Corless has documented some of the planet's most iconic endurance races and athletes, capturing the people, places and stories that define the sport.
Paul Tonkinson
Comedian | Author | Runner | MDS Finisher
British comedian, writer and endurance runner, Paul Tonkinson is the author of Running on Sand and 26.2 Miles to Happiness. Paul completed MDS Legendary in 2025, bringing his trademark humour and unique perspective to the world of endurance running.
Martin Lynn
Events Manager, Walking With The Wounded
Martin heads up all things events at Walking With The Wounded, from virtual events to weekend experiences in the lake district, all in aid of raising vital funds to support those who served and their families. A veteran himself, he not only helps steward the WWTW MDS team as they prepare for their deserter adventures, but is a key figure in pulling the UK Expo together.
