The war is over and the lads have returned home and it's a time for the nation to celebrate. The guests here tonight are paying tribute to those brave soldiers that put their lives on the line so that everyone can live free from tyranny. Although not everyone is happy to see things go back to normal and the battlefields of the Second World War won’t be the last place to see tragedy.

So, who are you in 1945? A shopkeeper? a seamstress? a milkman? A nurse? We can’t wait to see you there.
