MDBAA Scholarship Gala

You are invited to our annual Scholarship Gala scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Doubletree Hotel in Monrovia. This year, we will be honoring "Community Unsung Heroes". It promises to be a delightful evening that will include great music, food, recognition of our honorees, highlights of our scholarship recipients, raffles, and more. Your sponsorship/support will help us continue assisting our students with their educational pursuits.

About Us:

The Monrovia Duarte Black Alumni Association (MDBAA) was established in 1992 as a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the educational prospects of youth within the Monrovia and Duarte Communities. MDBAA members are devoted to supporting the educational advancement of students from Monrovia and Duarte High Schools, organizing various events throughout the year to offer educational opportunities, promote community engagement, and raise funds for scholarships.

Annually, the MDBAA presents financial scholarships to graduating seniors from Monrovia and Duarte, aiding them in their transition to college. To date, the MDBAA has disbursed over $150,000 in scholarship funds, sourced from fundraising initiatives and generous contributions, to facilitate the academic endeavors of local youth. This year (2024), the MDBAA awarded 17 scholarships totaling $18,000 to Monrovia and Duarte High School seniors!
