Families and friends are invited to have a meal, meet Journal staff, spin a prize wheel, enjoy local music, and support The Lansing Journal, all at one fun community event.Similar to McTeacher Night, McJournal Night is a fundraiser for Lansing's only newspaper, The Lansing Journal. McDonald’s will donate 20% of all its profits and 100% of pie sales to the Journal during the three-hour event. There will also be tip jars available for donations.
A team of volunteers, including Journal reporters and Journal supporters, will be working at the event — staffing the drive-thru and the register, selling pies, and greeting customers. The goal is to bring the community together at a fast-paced social event, to introduce new people to Lansing’s only newspaper, and to raise funds that will help the Journal continue to report, publish, and deliver local news every day.
