Mayfield Woods Middle School - Community Safety Walk

Join the Howard County Local Health Improvement Coalition and the Mayfield Woods Middle School PTA for a community safety walk.

We’ll start at 10:30 a.m. in the school’s front parking lot, and there will be giveaways along the way.

During the walk, we’ll look closely at the sidewalks, crossings, and routes students use. Together, we’ll note what feels safe, what feels difficult, and what could be improved to make travel more accessible and welcoming for students and families.

Your voice matters. The experiences you share will help shape recommendations for future safety upgrades—such as better crosswalks, traffic‑calming measures, and safer connections to nearby community spaces.

This is a hands‑on, collaborative effort. Thank you for lending your time and perspective to support student safety and encourage more walking and biking in our community.
