Have you ever wanted to spend an entire evening with just a few pages of a remarkable book?

Ripening is a slow-reading salon devoted to savoring books rather than just getting through them. We’ll begin with Andreas Weber’s , a book about aliveness, relationship, desire, and what it means to belong to a living world.

We read the book together, in the room, line by line.

When something catches us, maybe a sentence, an image, an idea, or a disagreement, we stop to talk. Conversation, then, determines the pace we read at. We might read ten pages in an evening. We might read six sentences. There is no schedule for finishing the book.

That means no assigned reading and no catching up. Join from the beginning, come every Thursday, skip a week, or arrive months after we’ve started. Wherever the group is in the book when you walk through the door is where you begin.

I’m interested in creating the kind of evening that feels nourishing when you leave. We invite beautiful language, give it enough time to unfold, thoughtful conversation that isn’t trying to arrive at the right answer, tea, sharing something good to eat with each other, and a small group of people willing to linger with what interests them.

We’ll meet Thursday evenings from 6:30–8:30 pm at my studio (exact details sent upon registration).

Accessibility note: the space is located on a third floor with no elevator access. Shoes are not allowed.

Space is intentionally limited to 10 people so the conversation can remain intimate. Please only RSVP if you know you can come.

The in-person salon is free to attend. Donations are welcome and help support my time and the studio space, but they are never required.
