Please join us for an Open House Memorial & Celebration of Life for my late husband, Matt Huttner on Sunday, April 26th, 2026.
We have the rental location between 12pm and 4pm. Feel free to come at noon to gather with friends or family & enjoy refreshments. The program will be between 1pm and 3pm, though all are welcome anytime during the 4 hour window as your schedule or emotions permit. If you would like to attend the structured portion of the program, we recommend arriving by 1:00pm.
We have all 3 rooms in the rental facility, with each room dedicated to a different purpose. One for food & beverage, one for the memorial program and one for a quiet reflection space.
🍽 Food: guests are encouraged to bring a dish or beverage to share, though it's certainly not required & everyone is welcomed to partake.
Suggested items ➡️ charcuterie boards, casseroles, desserts, soups, veggie or fruit trays, chips & dip, bottled water, sparkling water, coffee or tea, etc.
Please consider an ingredient list for your dish to keep this friendly for any folks with allergies.
💙 Memorial Items: If you would like to share pictures, memorabilia or anything similar there will be a place to display them and then you may of course take them home once the memorial concludes. Feel free to provide an index card to explain items if you wish to share the accompanying story.
🎸Music: We will be playing a Spotify playlist featuring music Matt loved and music that guests provide that make them think of him. If you would like to submit a song, please message me (Alison Huttner) or post them in the comments.
There will also be a few select live songs performed during the service by Matt's old bandmates from MelloRoar & BIG Sexy.
👗 Clothing: this is a casual gathering, but you are encouraged to wear blues, pinks, purples or metallics in honor of our "family colors."
🎨 Activity: There will be a communal art piece that everyone is encouraged to participate in painting. Don't worry, you only need a fingerprint, no artistic skills are necessary.
I plan to offer a print of the painting in the form of a magnet that you may order and pay for at the event (likely via cash/check, paypal, cashapp, or venmo). Of course you'll have to leave your address as well so it can be mailed to you once finished.
🎤 Pass-the-mic: After I deliver the eulogy (currently planned for roughly 1:30pm) guests will be able to share memories or thoughts as time permits with priority given to family and closest friends. We will also have a memorial box if you'd like to leave a message or story and do not feel comfortable speaking during the program.
📣 Sharing is caring: please feel free to share the date and memorial information with anyone who knew and loved Matt. This is a child-friendly memorial; all are welcome if it feels appropriate for your family.
💚 Gofundme/Private Donations: For those who have asked how to support, links will be available to help offset memorial costs or support our beautiful son Leonard and me as we move forward.
🛺 Parking: There is space in front of the building to park on the road. When spaces are full you may park up the hill and we will have a golf cart escort to bring you safely down to the event and back up when finished. You may also choose to walk down the paved path from the upper lot.
