Fun, social weekend with shared Matariki dinner and working bee based out of Aspiring Hut in West Matukituki Valley.

Hi friends!
The plan is to walk in to Aspiring Hut on Friday ready for working bee on Saturday. Trip members are welcome to arrive early at the hut on Friday if they wish to head out for a day walk in the area. Saturday will be the main working bee day with participants sorted into smaller groups to carry out maintenance tasks at Aspiring and Cascade Huts (this might include minor repairs, small building projects, tidy up tasks, cleaning facilities ect). There will be a shared Matariki potluck dinner on Saturday night. Sunday will mainly be a pack up and walk out day although there is an option for people to do a short walk in the morning before they head out. It is an easy 2 - 3hr walk to Aspiring Hut. The 9km track is mostly flat 4WD track with a couple of small hills. There will be a range of working bee tasks available to suit everyone whether you have tradie skills or simply know how to wield a cleaning cloth!
