Matariki Star Trail Night Walks!
On Wednesday 8th and Friday 10th July, at 6.30pm, we'll gather in front of Avebury House. From there we'll go through the playground, and on to find our way around nine stars in the Matariki cluster, each lit up throughout the community garden. We'll admire the displays, learn a little about each whetū/star as we go, we'll make our Matariki wishes, and if it's a clear night, we might even spot some real stars!
Please wear suitable clothes and footwear for being outside at night; you are welcome to bring a torch, children, and even pooches on leads. We politely discourage headlamps, as they tend to blind fellow walkers, think downward facing lights! The walk should take between 40-45 mins.
Parking will be available in Avebury Car Park, on Eveleyn Couzins Ave, opposite the house. We don't mind chilly, or even a bit of drizzle, but if it's stormy we will have to cancel - keep an eye on the event page discussion or Avebury's facebook page for any updates!
