In deze masterclass zit Lander Gyselinck achter de drumkit en neemt hij het publiek mee in zijn muzikale praktijk als drummer, componist en maker. Via live spel, demonstraties en gesprek verkent hij verschillende invalshoeken van zijn werk.
Hij gaat daarbij in op vier thema’s:
Groove als taal – hoe microtiming, feel en placement het verschil maken tussen correct spelen en muzikaal communiceren.
Improvisatie buiten jazz – improvisatie als essentiële skill voor elke moderne drummer, ook binnen grooves en beats.
Hybrid drumming & sound design – het combineren van akoestische drums met samples, loops en elektronica.
Doctoraat / PhD in the Arts – over zijn doctoraatstraject en hoe albums zoals Hihats In Trees deel uitmaken van zijn artistieke onderzoek.
