Here is some information about our LEICA MEET BELGIUM – MEETING BRUSSELS 2026:
We will meet you on the esplanade of Central Station.
Departure will be at exactly 9:30 AM.
The walk will focus on the modern architecture of the European districts. We will take the metro to the MERODE station, then cross the Cinquantenaire Park. This park was created in 1880 by King Leopold II to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Belgium’s independence. It houses the Royal Army Museum, the Aviation Museum, Autoworld, and the Royal Museums of Art and History, as well as many remarkable statues.
We will then head to the Schuman roundabout, where the headquarters of the European Union is located. From there, we will continue toward Rue Belliard, where many buildings are worth seeing for their architecture, including the EUROPA building and the STEPPING FORWARD statue.
Next, we will make our way to Place Jourdan and enter Leopold Park, located behind the European institutions. This park was created in 1850, transformed into a zoological garden in 1851, and later into a science hub. It offers interesting and photogenic views of the backs of EU buildings.
We will then reach the European Parliament site—bring your wide-angle lenses, there will be plenty to photograph. From there, we will go to regain our energy, with lunch planned at 1:30 PM at our favorite restaurant, LA SOLE D’ITALIA.
For those who still have some energy left, we can take a short walk to the Grand Place or end the day with a friendly drink on the rooftop of the administrative center.
The day is expected to end at 5:00 PM.

Voici quelques informations pour notre LEICA MEET BELGIUM MEETING BRUSSELS 2026;
Nous vous attendrons sur l esplanade de la gare Centrale.
Le départ se fera à 09h30 précises.
La balade sera axée sur l’architecture moderne des quartiers européens. Nous prendrons le métro jusqu’à la station MERODE, traverserons le PARC DU CINQUANTENAIRES. Ce parc fut crée en 1880 par le roi Leopold II pour organiser le jubile du cinquantenaire de l’indépendance de la Belgique. Il abrite le Musées Royal de l ‘armée, Le musée de l’aviation, l’autoworld et les musées royaux d’art et d’histoire. De nombreuses statues remarquables.
Nous rejoindrons le rond point Schuman ou se trouve le siège de l’UE. Nous progresserons vers la rue Belliard, nombreux bâtiments dont l architecture vaut le détour, notamment le bâtiment EUROPA et la statue STEPPING FORWARD. Ensuite nous nous dirigerons vers la place Jourdan et entrerons dans le PARC LEOPOLD a l’arrière des institutions européennes. Ce parc fut crée en 1850, en 1851 il fut aménagé en jardin zoologique et puis en cité des sciences. Il donne des points de vue interessants et photogéniques sur l arrière des bâtiments de l UE.
Nous rejoindrons le site du PARLEMENT EUROPEEN, sortez vos grands angles il y a de quoi photographier. De la nous partirons pour prendre des forces, déjeuner prévu à 13h30 a notre restaurant favori LA SOLE D ITALIA.
Pour ceux a qui il restera encore un peu de courage on pourra encore faire un petit tour a la Grand place ou finir autour du verre de l’amitié sur le rooftop de la cité administrative.

Hierbij enkele praktische informatie over onze LEICA MEET BELGIUM – MEETING BRUSSEL 2026:
Wij verwachten jullie op de esplanade van het Centraal Station.
Het vertrek is stipt om 09:30 uur.
De wandeling zal in het teken staan van de moderne architectuur van de Europese wijken. We nemen de metro naar station MERODE en wandelen vervolgens door het Jubelpark. Dit park werd in 1880 aangelegd door koning Leopold II ter gelegenheid van het vijftigjarig jubileum van de Belgische onafhankelijkheid. Het herbergt het Koninklijk Museum van het Leger, het Luchtvaartmuseum, Autoworld en de Koninklijke Musea voor Kunst en Geschiedenis, evenals talrijke opmerkelijke standbeelden.
Daarna gaan we naar het Schuman-rondpunt, waar het hoofdkwartier van de Europese Unie gevestigd is. Vervolgens trekken we richting de Belliardstraat, waar verschillende gebouwen architecturaal de moeite waard zijn, waaronder het EUROPA-gebouw en het beeld STEPPING FORWARD.
Daarna begeven we ons naar het Jourdanplein en betreden we het Leopoldpark, achter de Europese instellingen. Dit park werd aangelegd in 1850, in 1851 ingericht als dierentuin en later omgevormd tot een wetenschapscentrum. Het biedt interessante en fotogenieke uitzichten op de achterkant van de EU-gebouwen.
Vervolgens bereiken we de site van het Europees Parlement — haal je groothoeklens boven, want er valt heel wat te fotograferen. Daarna gaan we onze krachten opdoen, met een lunch voorzien om 13:30 uur in ons favoriete restaurant LA SOLE D’ITALIA.
Voor wie nog wat energie over heeft, kunnen we nog een korte wandeling maken naar de Grote Markt of de dag afsluiten met een gezellig drankje op het dakterras van het administratief centrum.
Het einde van de dag is voorzien om 17:00 uur.

We are very pleased to announce that, for the very first time in
the history of LEICA MEET BELGIUM, and thanks to our
loyal partner PCH PRO SHOP, we will be organizing a
competition during our meeting on May 23 for the best photo
from our photography course. This competition is exclusively
open to participants who are present at the meeting. The
winner of the competition will receive a LEICA SOFORT 2
(in red, black, or white, at the lucky winner’s choice),
generously offered by our partner PCH PRO SHOP. The
photos will be sent anonymously to PCH PRO SHOP, who
will select the image that best captures the theme of this
beautiful day. Each participant may submit a maximum of 2
photos via Messenger to Geert Verstrepen and Martine Vervat
(please send to both administrators) before May 31, 2026.
