This is your opportunity to speak directly with your state legislators about the environmental issues that matter most to our communities.
As we set the tone for environmental policy action for the next four years, this is a crucial year for Maryland's environment. We're advancing bold legislation to ensure clean air, protect our water, and build a climate-resilient future.
Your voice can help make these bills become law:
1. The Abundant, Affordable Clean Energy (AACE) Act: Securing reliable, affordable clean power while creating local jobs
2. The CHERISH Our Communities Act: Protecting neighborhoods from the combined health impacts of multiple pollution sources
3. The Coal Clean-Up and Asthma Mitigation Fund: Supporting communities affected by coal transport while funding climate solutions
4. The Nearshore Farm Finance Act: Protecting the Chesapeake Bay while supporting our farming communities
Never lobbied before? No problem! We'll provide everything you need to be a confident and effective advocate:
- Virtual training session before the event (Monday, February 10 5:30 PM- 6:15 PM)
- In-person training and orientation on lobby day (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM)
- Materials explaining our priority legislation
- Experienced Maryland LCV staff to guide you
- Fellow advocates to join you in meetings (Meetings to be held 5:00 PM-7:30 PM)
You must attend the virtual or in-person training in order to lobby on February 17. We will be sending out a recording of the training afterward as well.
