North UMC is one of five churches which are joining together to support the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration presented by the MLK community on Monday, Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, 210 East 34th St., Indianapolis.
The entire family (all age groups) are invited to attend workshops at 10 a.m., a worship service at 11 a.m., and a free lunch at noon that day.
In addition to Phillips Temple and North, the other churches participating are New Circle Church, Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, and Trinity Episcopal Church.
The workshop topics will be "Six Principles of Non-Violence," "Positive Promotions, "Expression of Individual Dreams," and a vision board rendition of "I Have a Dream."
Rev. Adam Pierce, senior associate rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, will preach at the worship service, which will be hosted by Rev. Peris Lester of Phillips Temple. Rev. Barry Rager of New Circle Church will deliver the liturgy. Musical offerings will be by Demetrius Warren of New Circle and Anthony Williamson of Phillips Temple.
