On THE first Singer/Songwriter Sunday of 2026, Marques Morel plays his own music in a special duo with Simon Cropp. About Marques:
Marques Morel is an American songwriter, storyteller, midwesterner, folksinger, guitar-thumper, harmonica wailer, street performer, wandering troubadour, steadfast woodcutter, migrant worker, a father, a son, and a friend to all.
No Depression has stated that his music is
“…delivered from the heart, dusty and roadworn, but undaunted." And on the topic of his songs, Americana Highways maintains that “These cigars are handrolled, not machine-made.”
About Simon:
Simon Cropp is a flatpick guitarist and country and bluegrass songwriter. His performance style is equal parts dive bar bravado and fireside introspection. Simon’s songwriting style is plainspoken storytelling, channeling classic country themes of love, heartbreak, and the landscapes he travels through. Note: He's equally comfortable on pedal steel guitar, electric guitar, and bass.
Simon has had the chance to share the stage with songwriting inspirations in The Last Revel, Possessed by Paul James, Margo Cilker, Clay Street Unit, and Joseph Huber.
The hat will be passed. We ask for a minimum of $6 per adult listener. All money collected goes to the artists. Your support of live music is greatly appreciated.
