About this Event
One of the foremost harmonica players in the world, Mark Hummel, celebrates the release of his new album, True Believer, at this CD release party featuring notable blues staple players, including:
Bassist Randy Bermudes, who plays on the album and is a longtime member of Charlie Musselwhite’s band, plus a veteran of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Little Charlie & The Nightcats.
Guitarist and Grammy® winner Steve Freund, who’s played with Sunnyland Slim for 20 years, James Cotton for 10 years, and Otis Rush, Bo Diddley, Koko Taylor, and many more. He also produced Hummel’s 1997 album, Heart of Chicago, as well as Magic Slim’s, Henry Grey’s, and Snooky Pryor’s Blind Pig CDs.
Aki Kumar (famed Bay Area harp blower) will be on drums for this gig and has played with Angela Strehli and Hummel’s Harp Blowouts, and is a Little Village recording artist.
You can order the CD from City Hall Records here.
