The photographer Mark Chapman spent 7 years documenting the life of Derek, a hostel resident haunted by the spectre of the family he lost and living without the social safety nets many of us take for granted. The result is a powerful book of photographs that seek to illustrate and elevate a working class story that would otherwise have gone unacknowledged.
Mark will be in the People's Bookshop to discuss his project and to launch and sign copies of his book. We would be delighted if you could join us.
Doors open at 6.30 for a 7pm start; tickets are a fiver (which includes wine or non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
