The People's Bookshop is delighted to welcome singer-songwriter, Tom Rowan to the shop for his first performance with us.
Born in the Deerness Valley and a resident of Esh Winning, just to the west of Durham city, Tom is a self-taught guitar player and songwriter with a unique 'finger picking' style played on a nylon strung guitar.
The son of a miner, Tom's songs draw much their inspiration from the (former) pit community in which he grew up and where he has lived much of his life. Witty, at times elegiac, and pointedly political, his is an authentic voice of County Durham.
Doors open at 6.30, the show starts at 7pm and will finish by 9pm.
