MARIE FRANC • CONCRETE CLUB • PUNCH-IN • TUAREG • DEAD TENANT
GATHER@ THE BLIND TIGER, RAWTENSTALL, ROSSENDALE
Five emerging bands from Greater Manchester and Rossendale come together for a special free-entry showcase as part of the Gather@ Festival with a series of performances hosted across a variety of venues throughout Rossendale.
Featuring Marie Franc, Concrete Club, Punch-In, Tuareg and Dead Tenant, this eclectic line-up showcases the breadth of grassroots music currently emerging from the North West.
Manchester five-piece Marie Franc blend sultry pop vocals with intricate instrumentation that moves between folk, jazz, rock and country. Their immersive sound combines emotionally raw songwriting with expansive, genre-defying arrangements, drawing comparisons to Sinéad O’Connor and Dolores O’Riordan.
Concrete Club are a Manchester-based indie rock band who have rapidly built a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging live acts. Known for their energetic, in-your-face performances, the band have already completed a UK tour, sold out headline shows, and performed at iconic venues including Manchester’s Albert Hall.
Punch-In are an alt-rock four-piece from Warrington, blending new wave, post-punk and indie rock into catchy yet introspective songs that balance emotional honesty with sharp humour and a sense of the absurd.
Rossendale’s Dead Tenant channel post-punk, pop and occasional prog influences into fiercely independent songs of love, hate, hope and despair - kicking against inequality and ignorance with raw intensity. Entirely self-produced and self-promoted, the band operate from a former pub turned rehearsal and recording space.
Tuareg bring a punky garage-rock energy to the line-up, featuring Carrie Lawson and Selina Clements Woolnough alongside acclaimed musician Aziz Ibrahim (The Stone Roses, Simply Red, Steven Wilson). Combining DIY spirit with a feminist ethos, the band deliver high-energy performances packed with attitude and infectious hooks.
