March Hares 2026Saturday - Light Longsword Tournament - 21st March
You will compete using provided SIGI Lights for the top spot over the whole day in the Swiss tournament. A Swiss tournament is a different tournament structure than we normally see in the HEMA NZ/Aotearoa scene. Fencers will compete against all other fencers* to see who earned the most Swiss points throughout the day. Swiss points are earned by winning or drawing matches. You earn 3pts for a win, 1pt for a draw, and 0pts for a loss. There are no elimination rounds or medal matches. Your total Swiss points at the end of the day will determine your final placement and potentially medal spot.

Sunday - Workshop - 22nd March
A special workshop by Adrien Michaud. Adrien is one of the founders and coaches of Auckland Longsword. Adrien will be leading us through a workshop around the often neglected "tactical awareness" aspect of competitive HEMA.
* we cannot guarantee all fencers will face each other but we will try our best to get as many matches in as possible.
